The AKP government of which its sectarian and pro-Ottoman Syria policy was failed left the only Turkish territory outside of Turkey, the Suleyman Shah post in Aleppo to the terrorists
Turkish Army conducted a discharge operation towards the Suleyman Shah Post in Syrian city Aleppo. Suleyman Shah was the only Turkish territory outside of Turkey which harbours the Tomb of the grandfather of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.
50 Turkish tanks headed to Aleppo via Kurdish controlled Syrian city Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) in scope of a security operation for the discharge of 44 Turkish soldiers in the Suleyman Shah post at 21:00 in 21 February 2015.
According to the government sources, the operation was conducted in the framework of a memorandum passed from the parliament in 2 October 2014.
Turkish territory was abandoned
Prime Minister Davutoğlu said in his speech, "the remains of Suleyman Shah, the forefather of the founder of Ottoman Empire, had would be moved to a different area of Syria which has been brought under Turkish military control."
The AKP government's attitude of representing this defeat as an heroic victory caused heavy criticism in the opposition circles. Terrorist PKK claimed from its media organs that they have cooperated with Turkish Armed Forces during the operation.
Operation launched on the eve of the equip-train deal with the USA
The operation of the Turkish Armed Forces came immediately after Turkey signs the equip-train protocol with the USA towards the training of the Syrian opposition forces against the ISIL. The protocol aims to form an alternative armed force against the regime forces in the long term. the train-equip program was signed by Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioğlu and the US Ambassador for Ankara John Bass in February 19.
PKK's 'cooperation' propaganda
HDP MP Hasip Kaplan said "The most striking point is that the Turkish Armed Forces and the YPG took place in an operation after a 30 years conflict period. This is a milestone." The PKK's media organ ANF also alleged that the operation was conducted under the cooperation of Turkish Army and the YPG.
